System-Analytical Method of Earthquake-Prone Areas Recognition

Typically, strong earthquakes do not occur over the entire territory of seismically active region. Recognition areas where they may is a critical step in seismic hazard assessment studies. For half century, Earthquake-Prone Areas (EPA) approach, developed by famous Soviet academicians I.M. Gelfand and V.I. Keilis-Borok, was used to recognize prone earthquakes. modern development ideas that form basis EPA method, new mathematical methods pattern recognition are proposed. They were authors overcome difficulties arise today when using approach its classic version. So, firstly, scheme for high seismicity disjunctive nodes vicinities axis intersections morphostructural lineaments created with only one learning class. Secondly, system-analytical method FCAZ (Formalized Clustering Zoning) has been developed. It uses epicenters fairly weak as objects. This makes it possible develop result after appearance and, thereby, repeatedly correct results time. shown creation first time made consider classical problem earthquake-prone from point view advanced systems analysis. The proposed article have successfully identify on continents North South America, Eurasia, subduction zones Pacific Rim.
